Tennis

When people ask me if I play tennis, I say no. There is a difference between playing and epic fails...and I'm more on the epic fail side. Today we had our first preseason match. Somewhere the tennis gods are crying on how pitiful I played. However, I did win my match and I don't know how. I'm not quite sure of my original intent in "playing" tennis. It is a fun game that involves just as much strategy as it does physicality. I used to think tennis was just something that you showed up to and you were immediately a pro. Boy was I wrong. There are a lot of really good players that put in a lot of time. My respect for them has now grown tremendously. And in time, with hours and hours of practice, maybe I will no longer be an alternate!

 

 

Skiing

It's been three weeks since I've gone skiing....is that even legal? Hopefully I'll be going this week but I"ll probably be taking my little sister in order to do so. Whenever I'm on the slopes, it just feels serial! I put some headphones in to block out the world and it's like my own paradise. Then you get off the lift and the adrenaline rush starts. Cruising down at unimaginable speeds: left, right, left, right. Then you hit a jump and your suspended weightless until gravity pulls you back down, rushing like a roller coaster. Finally at the end of a run, a sudden stop as snow goes flying because of the momentum from your skis. Now your ready to start it all again. A slow soothing ride up as the snow quietly blankets your coat white on the way up.
